|A total of SIX rounds will be sailed, with SIX races being sailed EACH week, best FOUR rounds to count. The same yacht must be sailed in each round, unless mechanical problems cannot be repaired at the lakeside.|
Being more or less back on schedule, round one of the Summer Series took place as five skippers basked in the red hot sunshine with an adequate breeze filling the sails sufficiently to give some close racing.
A shorter course was set starting from between marks 1 and 2 to mark 6, up to mark 3, back to 2 then across the pond again to 6 for the second lap and finishing from marks 2 to 8. There were several close finishes and despite Brian managing to miss the mark at 3 (which he himself set outside his range of vision!), the black boat once again took the honours with Paul 2nd and Dave 3rd.
It was the good old days at
the pond for round 2 of the Summer Series
with eight skippers taking part. A warm
welcome was given to Phil Parsons (sail
number 10) and George Younger (sail number
92) who seemed to enjoy their guest
appearances and hopefully will join us on a

triangular course was set starting from
between marks 6 and 7 to mark 1 then
diagonally across the pond to mark 5 and
back to 7 for a couple of laps finishing at
the usual mark 8. Brian Hartley had a superb
day making an almost clean sweep by winning
5 of the six races and was only 2nd to Roger
Monks in Race 3. Other placings were more or
less consistent with identical results in
some races. Brian Hartley once again took
the honours comfortably, with Roger ending up
2nd overall and Dave Johnston 3rd.
